The Liverpool head coach acknowledged that it was expected for concerns to be asked about his future after another heavy loss versus PSV Eindhoven.
The Reds suffered their ninth loss in 12 games, representing the club's worst streak since being demoted in the 1953-54 season.
They were taken apart by the Eredivisie title holders on a tough night at Anfield.
“I am feeling safe, I'm fine, I have got a lot of backing from the top,” Slot remarked.
“It would be great to turn it around and secure a win of course but when you're coaching a team and not doing well then it is normal that doubts arise.”
He added, “I'm comfortable with my role. This isn't the initial instance I've found myself in a tough spot but it is about time that we improved our results.”
Discussions with The Board
When asked to elaborate on his dialogues with the team officials, Slot revealed:
“There's regular dialogue. They are supportive to the team and for me and we have those conversations but they aren't calling me all the time of the day to say they have faith in me.”
He mentioned, “Through standard exchanges I sense the trust. However I haven’t spoken to them since this match yet so it remains to be seen.”
Recurring Failings and Squad Reaction
Slot lamented known weaknesses from his Liverpool side in their Champions League loss, specifically missed opportunities and leaking goals.
Meanwhile, midfielder Curtis Jones was blunter in his evaluation of the team's situation.
“I haven't got the solutions. Truthfully, I do not. I’m saying that to all,” Jones remarked.
“It is unacceptable. I don't need to wait to think about it. I'm beyond getting mad internally. I've reached the stage currently where I just don’t have the words.”
He continued, “It’s hard because I play for the side I follow. I support them, and I’ve seen this club all my life.”
“For many years, I haven’t experienced a Liverpool team experiencing a phase of this nature with outcomes so bad.”
Jones concluded, “However we continue to wear the crest on our shirts. And until it is taken away, we'll continue to compete.”
“We will attempt to bring this squad back to its rightful place, demonstrate to all again what Liverpool stands for and the reason it's called the best team in the world.”
“But right now, we're in trouble and we have to turn it around.”
