Much like Storm Claudia hit the northern region the night before, the home side swept Manchester United away at the their home ground. It was a convincing three-nil victory for their manager's side owing to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Shaw and Hemp. It was a result that clearly signaled their championship potential as they strengthened their place at the WSL pinnacle.

Consecutive Defeats for Manchester United

This result marked back-to-back Women's Super League defeats for Skinner's side for the initial occasion since May 2024, leaving them a significant margin off the league leaders with their championship aspirations in serious doubt.
