The UK is prepared to move forward with employing the entire amount of frozen Russian holdings to support Ukraine's defense operations, PM Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a joint statement, the leaders of the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany asserted that this joint measure would increase strain on Russian President Vladimir Putin and compel the Russian Federation to come to the table.

They further noted that the initiative would be carried out in strong partnership with the United States.

UK penalties have immobilized more than £25bn of Russian resources since the Russian government initiated its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. But, previously, money provided to Ukraine using Russian assets had only been sourced from gains and dividends accrued on them.

Sir Keir told Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their goal to advance efforts toward utilizing the full value of the seized Russia's state funds to end the war.

He stated that additional sanctions soon would heighten the tension on Moscow.

This declaration comes after European officials convened in the Danish capital recently to discuss utilizing immobilized Russian holdings for a €140 billion financial aid to Ukraine.

Last month, President Donald Trump called on G7 allies to take or otherwise use seized Russian funds, as reported by media sources.

The total of seized Russia's holdings in the EU is estimated to be almost €211bn.

Russia carried out extensive bombardments across Ukraine on that day, leading to blackouts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv, and multiple additional areas.

While commending the UK's strong support for Ukraine, he noted it should indicate firmly that it would engage in the system, as well as enforce further sanctions on the Russian Federation.
