England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.

The trio have been celebrated for their exceptional achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a historic innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The finalists were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show.

This year's winner will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on the 18th of December.

The show will be televised from 19:00 GMT.

Michelle Agyemang

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She entered the fray to score crucial late equalisers in both the last eight and last four matches.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"Being nominated for this award is an honour," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

The Darts Prodigy

Littler's 2025 began in incredible form as - at just 17 years old - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

He didn't stop there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, shattering the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for the honour once more is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and burst into the spotlight with an remarkable and historic innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the season's run tally and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm truly honoured to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it motivates more girls to get into cricket."
